Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Vidoukin (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website Vidoukin.com. We are headquartered in the United States and our web server is located in the United States.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

We collect only very limited personal data and only what is strictly necessary for the Website to function. This may include cookie identifiers, such as a session ID, form state token, or CSRF token, which are set by our server when you visit pages with forms. These cookies are session cookies and are deleted when you close your browser. We may also automatically collect your public IP address in server logs, which is deleted after [14 days]. Where you submit information through a form, such as your name, email address, or message, this information is entered by you and is processed only to complete your request, for example by sending the message to us by email. We do not store this form information on our server.

We use only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use marketing, analytics, sharing, or tracking cookies. The cookies we use are essential for the operation of the page, such as remembering form data during a single session or helping prevent cross-site request forgery. These cookies are not shared with any third party and are not used for profiling, advertising, or any purpose other than basic website functionality. Because these cookies are essential, explicit consent is not required under the GDPR, including Article 6(1)(f) or Article 6(1)(b), or under the PIPL, including Article 13(2)(1), where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract. However, we still inform you about their use for transparency.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

Our legal basis for processing personal data depends on the specific processing activity. For strictly necessary cookies, we rely on legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, because these cookies are required to provide a functional and secure website. Under the PIPL, the equivalent basis is contract performance under Article 13(2)(1), as these cookies are necessary for the basic operation of the Website.

Where we process form data in order to send an email or respond to your request, we rely on performance of a contract or taking steps at your request under Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. Under the PIPL, this is also treated as processing necessary for contract performance. For temporary IP address logs, we rely on legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, specifically for website security, fraud prevention, and technical protection. Under the PIPL, the equivalent basis is legitimate interests under Article 13(1)(6).

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only for:

  • Enabling the form to work correctly (temporary session state).

  • Transmitting your form input (e.g., your message) to us via email.

  • Protecting the Website against attacks (IP logs are deleted regularly).

We never: sell, rent, share, trade, or exploit your personal data for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.

5. Data Retention

  • Cookie identifiers: Deleted when you close your browser (session cookies).

  • Form data: Not stored on our server. If we send you an email confirmation or receive your message by email, that email is stored on our email provider’s servers (which may also be in the US). We do not retain form data in any database.

  • IP address logs: Deleted automatically after [e.g., 14 days – choose a reasonable period, typically 7‑30 days].

6. International Data Transfers

6.1 General

Our server is located in the United States. When you use our Website, your personal data (including your IP address and cookie ID) is transferred to the US.

6.2 For users in the European Union / EEA (GDPR)

The European Commission has not issued an adequacy decision for the US (except for companies certified under the EU‑US Data Privacy Framework – DPF). We currently do not hold DPF certification. Therefore, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted by the European Commission to ensure an adequate level of protection for your data. You may request a copy of these SCCs by contacting us at [privacy@yourdomain.com].

6.3 For users in China (PIPL)

Under the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), cross‑border transfers of personal information generally require:

  • A security assessment by the CAC (for larger transfers), or

  • Standard contracts published by the CAC, or

  • A certification.

Because we process only strictly necessary, low‑volume, non‑repetitive data (session cookies and temporary form processing) and do not store your data, we believe this activity may fall under a low‑risk exemption. However, PIPL is complex and enforcement is evolving.

If you are a user in China: By using this Website, you acknowledge that your personal data will be transferred to the United States. You have the right to request a copy of any cross‑border data transfer agreement we use. To exercise this right, contact us at [info@vidoukin.com. If you do not agree to this transfer, please do not use the Website.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. These may include the right to access your data, correct inaccurate data, delete your data, restrict or object to certain types of processing, request data portability, withdraw consent where consent is used, and lodge a complaint with a relevant supervisory authority.

Under the GDPR, EU residents generally have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to a local Data Protection Authority. Under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents generally have rights to access and delete personal information, request reasonable correction of inaccurate information, and appoint an authorised agent to act on their behalf, subject to legal exceptions. Under the PIPL, Chinese residents generally have rights to access, copy, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, request data portability where applicable, withdraw consent where consent is used, and lodge a complaint with the Cyberspace Administration of China.

Because we do not store form data and do not share personal data, exercising your rights will usually result in us deleting any temporary logs or cookie identifiers that we may still retain, or confirming that no personal data exists. To exercise your rights, you may contact us at info@vidoukin.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law, including 30 days under the GDPR, 45 days under the CCPA/CPRA, and 15 to 30 days under the PIPL where applicable.

For California residents, we do not sell personal information as defined by California law, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Therefore, we do not provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link. California residents may still request access, deletion, and correction of personal information, subject to applicable legal exceptions, and may designate an authorised agent to make a request on their behalf.

For Chinese residents, you may request information about any cross-border data transfer standard contract we use, if applicable. You may also request information about the logic used in automated decision-making, although automated decision-making is not used on our Website. Chinese residents may also lodge a complaint with the Cyberspace Administration of China.

For EU residents, you may lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority, such as the ICO in the United Kingdom, CNIL in France, or BfDI in Germany. You may also request restriction of processing or object to processing based on legitimate interests, although our legitimate-interest processing is limited to strictly necessary cookies and temporary technical logs.

8. Data Security

  • We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our server.

  • Secure server configurations (firewalls, regular updates).

  • Limited access to server logs (only system administrators).

  • However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s Data

9.1 As stated in our Terms and Conditions, this Website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

9.2 Under China’s PIPL, personal information of minors under 14 is considered “sensitive”. We do not knowingly collect sensitive data from any minor.

9.3 If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 (or under 14 for Chinese residents) has provided personal data to us, please contact us. We will take reasonable steps to delete any such data, including cookie identifiers and IP logs, to the extent technically feasible.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with the “Last updated” date. If we make material changes, we will provide a notice on the Website (e.g., a banner). Your continued use of the Website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
